The town is well-served by trains covering the short distance to the regional capital, which also go to Malaga international airport - many airlines, fly here from destinations all over Europe. Malaga City has established itself as much more than an arrival point for sunseekers. Home to the Picasso and Carmen Thyssen museums, it has an impressive cultural offering, with traditional art complemented by world-class contemporary works at CAAC, as well as Michelin-starred restaurant and innovative gourmet tapas. Being close to Malaga, is a wonderful bonus if you own a property in Torremolinos.

1. Crocodile Park

Here you can find a wide range of crocodiles, alligators, lizards and tortoises and view them all from a safe distance! Europe's only crocodile park has more than two hundred crocodiles, from babies up to huge adults weighing in at almost 500kg.  Not something to consider as a family pet, but worth a visit to see these fascinating creatures up close in their natural habitat.

The park boasts Nile Crocodiles, Spectacled Caimans and American Alligators among its inhabitants, including the massive Gran Paco (known as Big Daddy in English), the biggest crocodile in Europe, measuring five metres and weighing over 600kg. Make sure to visit at feeding time. The park's "nursery" is always busy, thanks to the successful breeding programme (each female can lay 30-50 eggs a year). Visitors can be  photographed holding a baby croc if this is your thing!!

2. Aqualand Torremolinos

Numerous water rides and slides catering to all tastes, from the adrenaline junkie to the gentle wallower in need of relaxation. Take your pick from the new rollercoaster-like boomerang, the highest kamikaze in Europe (22m), Super Slalom, rapids, and Black Hole, plus a wave pool and jacuzzi. Also, children´s area with wide, safe slide and spa circuit-like showers.   No Crocodiles here of any kind just some simple water-based fun for all the family.  Worth a visit if you would like a day of water adventures and relaxation

3. Molino de Inca Botanical Garden/Nature Reserve

Nestled in the heart of Torremolinos, the Molino de Inca Botanical Garden stands as a serene oasis, inviting visitors to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life and immerse themselves in the beauty of nature. This botanical haven unfolds around the historic Molino de Inca, a 13th-century watermill that adds a touch of historical charm to the surroundings. The garden boasts a diverse collection of flora, featuring indigenous Mediterranean plants, exotic species, and a meticulously curated display of cacti and succulents. Winding pathways lead through enchanting landscapes, adorned with vibrant blooms, aromatic herbs, and tranquil water features. The Molino de Inca Botanical Garden not only showcases the botanical diversity of the region but also provides a tranquil space for contemplation, making it a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful retreat in Torremolinos.

4. Parque La Bateria

Located to the north of La Carihuela, in a magnificent setting with sea views, the Parque de la Batería is one of the lungs of Torremolinos. An ideal place to relax, leave the asphalt , concrete and all the trappings of modern living behind and enjoy nature without leaving the city.

Its name comes from an old coastal battery, in fact there are still some artillery cannons and two underground bunkers. The Parque de la Batería has more than 74,000 square metres for leisure, sports activities, and family fun. With more than a thousand trees from 25 different species, it is the Central Park of Torremolinos.

There is also an artificial lake with over 9,000 square metres, where you can hire a boat, and a magnificent, classical, Venetian style merry-go-round with almost 50 figures of giraffes, ponies, floats and little houses for the delight of children.

5. Plaza Costa del Sol

The Plaza Costa del Sol, after its pedestrianization in 2019, has become a great boulevard for the enjoyment of visitors and residents. Designed by the architect Salvador Moreno Peralta, when you arrive at Plaza Costa del Sol the first thing that will catch your attention is the huge pergola formed by various arches evoking the waves of the sea. It is the most impressive element of the square. Right at the beginning of the pergola, you will find the other great icon of the boulevard, the spectacular sculpture by Elena Laverón, ‘Los Oficios’.

In addition, the green areas, the wide avenues, and the benches have turned this square into a new meeting space. Here you can enjoy its bars, cafes, ice cream parlours and restaurants, as well as all kinds of shops, outdoor events, or the pleasure of strolling under the shade of its pergola and admiring its murals and sculptures.

A few minutes’ walk away is ‘el Calvario’, part of the historic district, with traditional houses and charming squares.  Visit to experience the authentic Andalusian Atmosphere.

 
And there are numerous other attractions in the environs of the town, try the Casa de Los Navajas (a wonderful mansion built by the owner of a sugar plantation who wanted a spectacular residence overlooking the sea). Do not forget also the Torremolinos Synagogue, where you can discover more about the rich history of the Jewish people in Andalucia.  The Torremolinos History Museum,  located in a charming building in the town centre is also worth a visit, where you can gain insights into the town’s rich history through exhibits and artifacts.

Torremolinos and Benalmadena blend together and the public transport and proximity allow for easy access to the attractions for both towns.
